Do Not Divide Us.org is a watchdog to let the people know when politicians
of either political party act in a way to divide Americans.
We will point out when political leaders
put their own self interest above the good of the people. We
believe the current financial crisis was allowed to happen because our elected and appointed officials failed to do their
jobs and we will endeavor to alert the American people when we see this happening.
Did Pres. Obama Break His Promise?
When President Obama ran for office he said we should do all we could to limit the number of abortions.
On Friday, January 23 he reneged on that promise and issued a presidential memorandum allowing U.S. taxpayer money to be used
by international groups that provide abortions.
Obama reversed a policy that had begun under
President Reagan, reversed by President Clinton and then reinstated by President George W. Bush. The ban on the use of money
for abortions has been known as the "Mexico City policy " where the U.S. delegation announced it at a
U.N. conference on population.
With the stroke of his pen President Obama has angered millions
of Americans interjecting the inflammatory issue of abortion back into the political debate.
This controversal move makes it appears that those in the new administration feel it is more important
to pay off political debts rather than to work toward keeping the country unified.
Why
Obama would choose to insert such a divisive issue so early in his administration is a mystery. Apparently the President
is willing to risk dividing the country in order to keep to his political ideology. We urge him to consider carefully
before making such momentous decisions.
